A memorial service will be held at a later date for Benita June Lewis, 82, West Plains, Missouri.

Mrs. Lewis passed away at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her home.

She was born June 28, 1935, at Hayti, Missouri, to Benny Blurton and Juanita Burch Blurton. On August 15, 1953, she was married at Yuma, Arizona, to Junior Paul "Cotton" Lewis, who preceded her in death on December 25, 2000. Mrs. Lewis was an LPN. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the First Baptist Church food bank and enjoyed crafts. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Marina Thomas and husband, Philip, Collierville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Lois Lewis, Dexter, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kristina Lewis, Zachary Thomas and Shane Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Jerral Lewis, West Plains, Missouri and James Lewis and wife, Vicky, Fredricksburg, Virginia; and one sister-in-law, Judy Lewis, Fredricksburg, Virginia.

Her parents, husband, one son, Monty and one sister, Betty Laur, preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Plains Regional Animal Shelter and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
