Bertha Elnora Webb
Funeral services for Bertha Elnora Webb, 88, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Webb died at 4:35 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born November 22, 1925, in Howell County, Missouri, to Sam and Melva Jane Hayes Chappell. On May 1, 1941, she was married at Howell County, Missouri, to Charnel Gunter, who preceded her in death on January 1, 1962. On October 10, 1971, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Howard Olney Webb, who preceded her in death on November 1, 1986. Mrs. Webb did babysitting for several years, volunteered at Ozarks Medical Center and had worked as a cook at West Vue, Holiday Inn, Village Inn and Sharp’s Café. She enjoyed quilting. She made quilts for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends; a couple of quilts going all the way to Germany. Mrs. Webb was a member of First General Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Sam Lehman Gunter, wife, Cora, West Plains, Missouri, Wayman Gunter, wife, Christl, Dixon, Missouri, Harold Webb, wife, Ernestine, Willow Springs, Missouri and Ann Owen, husband, Earnie, West Plains, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Linda Webb, Mountain View, Missouri; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lavonne Chappell, West Plains, Missouri; step-sister, Betty Truesdale, State of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husbands, daughter, Nancy Colyer, three sons, Florman Gunter, Norman Gunter and Ron Webb, and two grandchildren, Ranee Livingston and Florman Gunter, Jr., precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pottersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideon Bible Society or Pottersville Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
