Obituary

Funeral services for Bessie "Marie" Comer, 84, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Comer entered into eternal rest Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home. She was born February 15, 1929 at Kanopolis, Kansas, the daughter of the late Daniel Dewey Dye and Bessie (Cherry) Dye. On October 19, 1945, Marie was married at West Plains, Missouri to Oscar Tom Comer, Jr. who preceded her in death on February 23, 2004.

She received her education at South Fork, Valley Star, Bradford and Mt. Zion schools. Marie loved her family and enjoyed the times the family spent together. She enjoyed deer hunting, being in the outdoors, working in her flower garden, mowing her lawn, cooking, having luncheons with her close friends and taking annual trips with her daughters.

In her young years, Marie worked at Baxter Laboratories in Mountain Home, Arkansas, Sterling Store, West Plains, Missouri and Eaton Corporation, West Plains, Missouri. She retired from Eaton Corporation in 1991.

Marie is survived by four daughters, Betty Sigler and husband, Gary, Caulfield, Missouri, Jane Forester and husband, Thurlo, Garden City, Missouri, Shirley Holstine and husband Donald, Bakersfield, Missouri and Reta House and husband, Rick, West Plains, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Trina Dixon and husband, Dominic, Kansas City, Missouri, Heath Forester and wife, Patsy, Harrisonville, Missouri, Heather Forester, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Marcie Perkins and husband, Ronnie, West Plains, Missouri, Cary Edwards and husband, Bill, Nixa, Missouri, Derek Holstine and wife, Sherra, Bakersfield, Missouri, Sherri Guffey and husband, Heath, Henderson, Arkansas, Brooke House and Brock House, West Plains, Missouri. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Hopkins, Joplin, Missouri; three brothers, Elmer Dye, Independence, Missouri, Lee Dye, West Plains, Missouri and David Dye and wife, Sarah, West Plains, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Naomi Dye, West Plains, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Brandon Ricky House, her brothers, Jim Dye, Joe Dye, Robert Dye and infant brothers and sister, Oscar Dye, Dewey Jr. Dye and Helen Dye.

She was a member of the Prairie Grove Church of Christ, Caulfield, Missouri, where she attended for many years.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 7th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Amy Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Paragould Children's Home or Children's Miracle Network and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
