Obituary

A Memorial Service for Louis Franklin Carr Ward, 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of West Plains, with the Reverend David Stuckey officiating, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward died at 8:44 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center.

He was born December 15, 1934 in Greenville, Missouri, the son of Wilma Sybilla and Louis Franklin Carr Ward. He was married August 8, 1956 to Miriam Hixon. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of West Plains, Marine Corp League, member and past president of Missouri State University Booster Club and former member of West Plains Rotary Club, Mason's, Shriner's and Junior Chamber of Commerce. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1953 – 1956 during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife Miriam, of the family home; one son, Carr Lawrence Ward and wife, Lisa, Kitimat, Canada; one daughter, Cindy Huitt and husband, Larry, Willow Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Lillian Chaney and husband, Louis, Troy, Missouri and Ginger Glasco and husband, Garry, Wolf Lake, Illinois; two half-sisters, Carrlin and Sheila; one half-brother, Tom Ward, Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Chad Ward and wife, Danielle, Las Vegas, Nevada, Zachary Talbot and wife, Jill, Wentzville, Missouri, Ashley Wilson and husband, Colt, Fordland, Missouri, Zeke Talbot and wife, Jessie, West Plains, Missouri, Chase Ward and wife, Jessie, Bolivar, Missouri, Christina Green and husband, Ty, Caulfield, Missouri and Sam Ward, Kenniwick, Washington; two step-granddaughters, Megan Nance and husband, Chris, Jonesboro, Arkansas and Sarah Downs and husband, Matt, Cleveland, Oklahoma; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Missouri State University Athletic Department, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
