Ms. Kosemund passed away at 2:15 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born March 30, 1941, at Dora, Missouri, to Elmer Walter Trail and Thelma Laura Smith. Elsie dedicated her life to her family and friends. She is survived by three children, Rita Maria Smith and husband, Robert of St. Louis, Missouri, Valdean Leah Kosemund , and Scott Frank Kosemund of West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren, Brad Kosemund, Cody Roberts, Jasmine Bennington and husband, Adam, Andrew Smith and wife, Becca, Ariella Smith, and Adam Smith; five great-grandchildren, Rylee Kosemund, Ethen Kosemund, Maxx Bennington, Nathan Smith, and Nicholas Smith; two brothers, Walter Trail of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Thomas Trail and wife, Paulette of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Graveside services for Jack Lee Cauldwell, 90, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Pine Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mr. Cauldwell passed away at 3:35 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Kabul Nursing Home.  

He was born May 22, 1933, at Madison, Kansas, to Herschel Beal (Bud) Cauldwell and Sophie Blanck Cauldwell.  Mr. Cauldwell was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean War.  On August 6, 1955, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Viola Ruth Edwards, who preceded him in death on October 22, 2015.  Mr. Cauldwell worked for forty-three years at Howard Construction; having retired in 1998.  He was also the owner and operator of Willow Springs Skelly Gas Station.  After retirement he enjoyed working and restoring old tractors and being on his farm.

He is survived by three sons, Michael and wife, Gayla, Kirby and wife, Shelly and Jack and wife, Natalie; five grandchildren, Heather and husband, Steve, Michele and husband, Daryn, Trey and wife, Courtney, Brandon and wife, Kerri and Brian and wife, Kendra; seven great-grandchildren, Harper, Piper, Canaan, Landry, Chloe, Graham and Mila; two sisters, Myrtle Irene Trogdon and husband, Gary and Carol Ann Hiler; and several nieces and nephews. 

His parents, wife, one infant son, Jackie Dale, two sisters, Arlene (Rene) Cauldwell and Thelma  Jean Burkhart and five brothers, Johnnie Joe, Bill Junior, Herschel Dean, Robert Lynn and Larry, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Jerry (Cowboy) Luton, 67, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Dry Creek Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mr. Luton passed away at 4:41 a.m., Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri with family by his side.  

He was born October 3, 1955, at Mountain Grove, Missouri, to Melvin Luton and Essena Collins Luton.  Mr. Luton attended Cabool School.  He met the love of his life, Anna Merline Wiese in 1979 and they were married February 14, 1980; they were married 43 years.  Cowboy and Anna loved children; together they had 173 nieces and nephews and helped in raising some of them:  Coatney, Jesse, Sarah, Jacob, Jase, Wyatt and Kody; they were like their own children.  Elijah, Mike and Harlee were special also.  Cowboy was a farmer and worked on C & H Farms for many years.  He also raised cattle, horses and goats; he loved his donkeys.  Cowboy will be greatly missed by many people that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Luton, of the family home; three brothers, Estel Luton and wife, Maxine, Willow Springs, Missouri, Donnie Luton, Cabool, Missouri and Steve Luton and wife, Sandy, Mountain Grove, Missouri; one sister, Verlon Pogue and husband, Sam, Fredericktown, Missouri; sister-in-law, Sheryl Ford; two brothers-in-law, David Wiese and wife, Krista and Dane Wiese and wife, Emma; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

His parents, two sisters, father-in-law and mother-in-law, two nieces, one nephew, and one brother-in-law, preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Cynthia Lynn Barnard, 57, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Cynthia passed away at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at her home.  

She was born February 25, 1966, at St. Louis, Missouri, to Elaine O’Brien Bibb.

Words from her children:  Mom always did everything in this world for us boys; it never mattered what the situation was, we were always taken care of.  It wasn’t always about having the best things, but Mom would make sure we had everything we needed, which mostly were the best things.  I’ll always respect my Mother until the day I meet her again, especially for always being a strong, independent woman.  She was like our super hero.  Mom had ways to make sure we were happy, because at the end of the day, whatever made us happy, made her happy.  It is hard playing the mother and father role as a single mother, but she made it seem very easy.  Looking at us boys today, you can see what a great job she did with raising two well mannered young men.  There was never a day Mom didn’t have a smile on her face.  After all her pain, she is now in Heaven at peace.  Now Mom will forever be our guardian angel and protect us like she did when she was a part of this earth.  Mom taught so many life lessons that we will never take for granted and will hold with us for the rest of our time.

She is survived by two children, Jonathan Bibb and Billy Holloway and wife, Brooke, all of West Plains; one grandchild, Jaxon Holloway and one on the way; one brother, Jeff Bibb, Festus, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews, including Thomas, Dusty and Kyle Herrington. 

Her parents, and one brother, John Bibb, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Wanda Ruth Pond, 92, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Pond passed away at 8:20 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at West Vue Green House Homes.  

She was born May 27, 1931, at Hopson Valley near Corning, Arkansas, to Will Whelchel and Ethel Deckard Whelchel.  On December 10, 1949, she was married at Corning, Arkansas, to Earnest Ezra Pond, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2016.  Ruth loved her family; she enjoyed sewing and watching baseball and basketball with her husband.  She was very active and always had a smile on her face.  Ruth was a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club.  Mrs. Pond loved going to Church and was a member of Assembly of God Church for many years.  She also loved listening to Gospel music.

She is survived by three children, Rick Pond and wife, Margaret, Gilliam, Missouri, Vickey Collins and husband, Lloyd, West Plains and Terry Pond and wife, Kim, West Plains; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Richie Pond and wife, Debi, and their children, Ryan, Cory, Maci and Emmy, Sedalia, Missouri, Scott Pond, Marshall, Missouri, Brandi Mills and husband, George, and their children, Olivia and Noah, Ozark, Missouri, Tyler Pond and wife, Monique, and their children, Camden, Ella and Nora, West Plains, Lloyd Collins, Branson, Missouri and Dustin Collins, Branson, Missouri; two brothers, Homer Whelchel and Bill Whelchel and wife, Linda, all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one sister, Ruby Ennis, Success, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, husband, three brothers, Elmer, Ralphie and Ivan and three sisters, Beulah, Norma and Mildred, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Coats passed away at 9:13 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.  

She was born April 15, 1946, at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Ira Devore and Azalea Slinkard Devore.  She was married at Gatlinburg, Tennessee to John (Mike) Coats.  Sharon enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and camping.  She loved holidays, cooking, spending time with her family and loved her three little dogs.  Mrs. Coats attended First Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, John (Mike) Coats, of the family home; six children, Todd Menz and wife, Adonia, Kelley Phillips and husband, Merle and Brian Menz and wife, Shelly, all of West Plains, Angie Franklin and husband, Cameron, Savannah, Georgia, Michael Coats and friend, Shelby, St. Louis, Missouri and Tara Coats and friend, Lester, St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Chad Menz and wife, Amelia, Haley Menz, Bailey Menz, Brilee Menz and Brady Coats and wife, Whitnie; one great-grandson, Bode Menz; and several beloved nieces and nephews. 

Her parents and one brother, Jack Devore, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Ina Fay Bennett, 92, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Bennett passed away at 10:01 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, at West Vue Nursing Center.  

She was born April 13, 1931, at Twin Bridges, Missouri, to Otis Ledbetter and Eunice Mitts Ledbetter.  She received her education at Dora School.  On September 27, 1949, she was married to Lynn Bennett in Howell County, Missouri, at the home of her beloved grandparents, J. W. and Rosa Mitts.  Ina Fay and Lynn lived in New Jersey for two years while Lynn was in the Army.  She loved for her and Lynn to go for rides and shopping; she enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with people.  Mrs. Bennett was baptized in the early 1950’s.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn Bennett; her nephew and caregiver, Kevin Puckett; and several cousins. 

Her mother and step-father, Eunice and Jess Hopkins, twin infant brothers, Clyde and Claude and her beloved grandparents, J. W. and Rosa Mitts, preceded her in death.

Eloise Joan Norberg, 94, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Sunday, August 13, 2023, at West Vue Nursing Center.  

She was born April 24, 1929, at Erie, Pennsylvania, to Gustav Frederick Luther Lindstrom and Ruth Edquist Lindstrom.  Eloise volunteered as a Senior Girl Scout Leader for twenty-five years in Jamestown, New York.  She was very proud that she had four Lutheran ministers in her family, as she was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed spending her free time doing crafts and loved traveling with her friends.

She is survived by one son, Steve Norberg and wife, Sally, West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two special friends, Jan Crews and Dottie Skinner, both of Bessermer, Alabama; and her thirteen year old cat, Lilla Venn. 

Her parents, former husband, Norman Norberg and one brother, Reverend Paul Lindstrom, preceded her in death.

Aniah Jean Coffel, daughter of Levi Coffel and Ashley Corkin, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023. 

She was born February 10, 2023, at Ozarks Healthcare, West Plains, Missouri.  Though she lived a short six months on earth, she made an everlasting impact on those who knew her.  She was a smiley baby who loved being talked to, loved being outdoors and had a very special bond with her siblings and family.

She is survived by her parents; two siblings, Aiden and Ava Coffel; paternal grandfather, Jeff Coffel; paternal grandmother, Amanda Coffel and Lucas; maternal grandfather, Richard Corkin; maternal grandmother, Dawn Jensen; maternal great-grandfather, Richard Jensen; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, Michael Franz and Tasha Tyner.  

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held.  Arrangements under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

A celebration of life for Betty Lou Bass, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, October 27, 2023, at VFW, West Plains.

Mrs. Bass passed away at 1:28 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Ozarks Medical Center.  

She was born March 11, 1940, at Willow Springs, Missouri, to Fred Homer Kelly and Edith Esther Howell Kelly.  She was married to Jack Bass, who preceded her in death on November 13, 1997.  Betty loved her family, blood or not.  She would do anything for anyone.  Betty never said “goodbye” she always said “see you later”.  She lived a very humble life, didn’t ask for much and was always content with what she had; she was a very kind and witty person.  Mrs. Bass was a devout Christian.

She is survived by one son, Kenny; three grandchildren, Lisa, Rex and Jimmy; two great-grandchildren, Amy Wilson and husband, Chris and Nadine Enlow and husband, Ryan; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Kelly and Ray Kelly; one sister, Arley Daves; and many nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, husband, one daughter, Sue, three brothers, Otto, John and Homer and six sisters, Genevieve, Edna, Maggie, Rose, Eva and Fern, preceded her in death.  

A private burial will be at Trail Cemetery. 

Graveside services for Margaret Eveline Rheinhardt, 92, Adona, Arkansas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Rheinhardt passed away at 9:15 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2023, at Brookridge Cove Rehab & Care, Morrilton, Arkansas.  

She was born January 11, 1931, in Howell County, Missouri, to George and Bertha Bray Bolderson.  On July 3, 1950, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to James Randall Rheinhardt, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2018.  Margaret was a loving mother, raised two sons and was a faithful wife for sixty-eight years.  She enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing and loved her flowers.

She is survived one son, George Rheinhardt and wife, Becky, Adona, Arkansas; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Rheinhardt, St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cindie Derden, James Rheinhardt and wife, Becca, George Rheinhardt and wife, Alex and Steven Rheinhardt; ten great-grandchildren; and special niece Linda Sue Kerns and two nephews, George Allen Bolderson and Randy Bolderson. 

Her parents, husband, one son, James (Jimmy) Rheinhardt and one brother, Charles (Son) Bolderson, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Sexton passed away at 5:35 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, at her home.  

She was born April 1, 1955, at Anchorage, Alaska, to Randall Wilson Conrad and Emily Jane Murrell Conrad.  On July 9, 1977, she was married at West Plains, to Mike Sexton.  Connie had a love for education and held a Bachelor’s Degree and two Master’s Degrees.  She was the Fairview Elementary School counselor for over fifteen years.  Connie enjoyed gardening, nature, wildlife, fishing, traveling, cooking, good food and reading, but she loved her family most of all.  She was referred to as Mimi and was adored by all five of her grandchildren.  Mrs. Sexton was a long time member of Spring Creek Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Sexton; three children and five grandchildren, Clinton Kyle Sexton and wife, Devin and their daughter, Kennedy, Emily Elizabeth Sexton-Harris and husband, John and their daughter, Aspen and son, Eli, and Jessie Lea Thompson and husband, Kody and their daughter, Gemma and son, Conrad; one sister, Cathy Decker; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, one brother, Randall James Conrad and special grandmother, Dorothy Murrell, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Jimmie Ladean Bamburg, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mr. Bamburg passed away at 4:59 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at his home.  

He was born June 24, 1938, at Coushatta, Louisiana, to Harlon Bamburg and Robbie Cannon Bamburg.  On May 16, 1958, he was married at Los Angeles, California, to Sarann Davidson, who preceded him in death on April 1, 2018.  Mr. Bamburg was a veteran, having served with the United States Marines.  He loved to play golf and watch golf on TV and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two daughters, Vikki Lacey and husband, Steven, Newbury Park, California and Susan Haas, Willow Springs,  Missouri; five grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Sara, Michael and Kym; five great-grandchildren, Danika, Kellen, Jensen, Rowen and Brinley; one brother, Jack Bamburg, State of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. 

His parents, wife and one grandson, Richard, preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Carolyn Ann Elkins, 76, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Elkins passed away at 8:42 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, at Ozarks Medical Center.  

She was born November 15, 1946, at Dos Palos, California, to Jay Wayne Bass and Ruth Yvonne  Pierce Bass.  On December 9, 1967, she was married at Fort Worth, Texas, to Robbie Joe Elkins, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2007.  Carolyn enjoyed going to church at Harbor of Hope.  She loved watching the birds eat out of her bird feeders and feeding and petting her stray cat.  She loved her family.

She is survived by three children, Debbie Tripp and husband, Tom, West Plains, Sharon Sisco and husband, Chet, Alton, Missouri and Jason Elkins and significant other, Carla, West Plains; eight grandchildren, Tiffanie Bryant and husband, Seth, Thomas Tripp and wife, Alesha, Emily Godat, Tyler Elkins, Dawson, Quinn, Evan and Jaiden Sisco; two great-grandchildren, Roxie Bryant and April Tripp; one brother, Tim Bass and wife, Kendra, Billings, Montana; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Sherry Buncher, of the State of Oklahoma. 

Her parents, husband and one brother, John Bass preceded her in death.

Graveside services for John Mitchell Glass, Sr., 78, Prescott, Arizona, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Homeland Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Glass passed away July 30, 2023 in Prescott, Arizona.

He was born on October 13, 1944 in West Plains, Missouri to Orville and Emma Glass.  In his younger years John was an outstanding athlete. He played all types of sports as well as watching them. John liked to go hunting for deer and elk. He also enjoyed to go fishing for all types of fish. He would watch NASCAR and Dirt Track Auto Racing. He was very proud of his beloved family and they will miss him very much.

John is survived by two sons John M. Glass Jr, and Robert R. Glass; one brother, Tim (Kim) Glass; one sister, Susan Miller; and his grandchildren, Shane, Dustin, Katelynn and Jasmine.

His parents and one sister, Shirley Cain, preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life for Raymond Albert Riel, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  

Mr. Riel passed away at 4:44 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2023, at his home.  

He was born February 12, 1939, at Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Arthur Riel and Armandine Riel (née Gaudette).  Raymond held many different occupations during his lifetime, but the one he loved the most was being a flea-market vendor, selling anything and everything. Working at flea-market venues allowed him to express his entrepreneurial spirit and to share the love of God with customers and other vendors. He was a member of Endurance Church in West Plains, Missouri.  He was well-loved and respected within his church, flea-market circles, and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Theora Riel; three children, Dawn Dionne and her husband, Glen, of West Plains, Missouri, Brian Riel and his wife, Pam, of Springfield, Missouri, Jason Riel and his wife, Karen, of Harrisonville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Rebecca Barnwell and her husband, Matthew, of Aiken, South Carolina, Nicole Mann and her husband, Ben, of Springfield, Missouri, Benjamin Dionne of West Plains, Missouri, Zachary Riel of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jacob Riel of Garden City, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Arthur Riel and wife, Irene, and Armand Riel and wife, Marie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

His parents and five siblings, Gerald Riel, Lucille Terrien, Edna Randall, Terry Satti, and George Riel preceded him in death.

Mrs. Engman passed away at 5:30 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.  

She was born March 26, 1936, at Halder, Wisconsin, to John and Lillian Kurtzweil Handrick.  On July 6, 1957, she was married at Halder, Wisconsin to Richard (Dick) Engman, who preceded her in death on March 27, 2003.  Jackie worked at the Mosinee Drug after graduating from Mosinee High School.  She later worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. in Wausau and worked many years for Dr. Earl McCandless.  The family moved to West Plains, Missouri in 1976 when Dick transferred with Marathon Electric opening a new manufacturing facility.  Jackie was always involved in church functions at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Wausau and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Plains.  For the majority of her years in West Pains, Jackie helped care for hundreds of elderly individuals.   Her caring and devotion was endless.  Anyone who had the opportunity to enjoy her homemade cinnamon rolls and the many pies that she made for many funerals, bake sales and special occasions were in for a treat.  Jackie was the “Go to Gal” for any function that needed biscuits, bread, ham and numerous other treats.  Jackie never had “No” in her vocabulary when it came to helping anyone.  Her generosity and caring will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

She is survived by her son, Randy Engman and wife, Julie, Blue Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Daulton Engman, Trae Engman and Hayden Engman; two brothers, Ted Handrick and wife, Ann, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Jason Handrick and wife, Kathie, Edgar, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and two first cousins. 

Her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters-in-law, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Margaret Meichell Lockhart, 72, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Gospel Hill Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Lockhart passed away at 12:42 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2023, at Ozarks Medical Center.  

She was born February 20, 1951, at Modesto, California, to Earl Bates and  Margie Cochran Bates.  On November 21, 1975, she was married at Turlock, California, to Tommy Earl Lockhart.  Mrs. Lockhart enjoyed raising animals, sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Lockhart, of the family home; three children, Cecil Leroy Sullens III and wife, Cherie, Gasconade, Missouri, Rachell Howard and husband, Mike, Willow Springs, Missouri and Benjamin  Lockhart and wife, Crystal, West Plains; eight grandchildren, Sean Sullens, Lilly Howard, Jesse Howard, Logan Howard, Jace Howard, Zachariah  Lockhart, Aubreona Lockhart and Juliana Lockhart; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Finnley Sullens; one brother, Danny Bates and wife, Dianna, Empire, California; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, first husband, Cecil Sullens, Jr., one grandson, Steven Sullens and one sister, Dahlynn Maria Bates, preceded her in death.  

Burial will be at Gospel Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Curry Street Church of Christ Library and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO  65775. 

James Dale Plowman, 78, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 11:07 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.  

He was born November 10, 1944, at Bethany, Missouri, to Dale Cummings  Plowman and Pearl Nadine Morris Plowman.  On June 28, 1971, he was married at Cameron, Missouri, to Elaine Frazee.  Mr. Plowman was a veteran, having served with the United States Marines.  He was the owner of Mid-West Walnut and Stoney Creek Ranch.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Plowman, of the family home and one brother, Vic Plowman, Council Bluff, Iowa. 

His parents and one sister, Toni, preceded him in death.
