Charles Edmund Harriell

Graveside services for Charles Edmund Harriell, 81, Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Alton, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Cave Springs Cemetery, Alton, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Harriell died at 11:44 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois.

He was born July 15, 1932, at Alton, Missouri, to Omer and Catherine Farris Harriell.  On November 21, 1980, he was married at Alton, Missouri, to Phyllis “Deloris” Andrews, who preceded him in death on January 16, 2012.  Mr. Harriell was a veteran, having served with the United States Army and was a farmer.

He is survived by two children, Sherry Powers, husband, Tom, Glen Arm, Illinois and Vicky Matthews, Springfield, Illinois; two grandchildren, Derek Powers, wife, Stephanie and Spencer Powers; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Aidien; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

His parents and wife precede him in death.
