Obituary

Funeral services for Danny Squire, 63, a lifelong resident of Moody, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Danny passed away at 8:05 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home.

He was born July 7, 1954, at West Plains, Missouri, to Kenneth G. Squire and Rachel Ann Green Squire.  Danny graduated from the West Plains High School with the Class of 1972.  On April 2, 1977, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Janice Jordan.  He started working for Preacher Roe where he learned to be a meat cutter; he also worked at Nu-Way Market, Price Chopper, Consumers, and retired after twenty-one years at West Plains Wal-Mart as manager of the meat department.  Danny loved his farm, enjoyed playing golf and bowling; his grandbabies were the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Squire, of the family home; one son, Leslie Squire and children, Kourtney and Hunter, of Branson, Missouri; one daughter, Krista Lair and husband, Heath and sons, Brett, Connor, Mason and Jax, of West Plains; his mother, Rachel Squire, West Plains; one sister, Linda Squire, West Plains; mother-in-law, Opal Maynard, West Plains; two brothers-in-law, Pete Jordan and wife, Robin and daughter, Jenna, West Plains and Sammy Maynard and wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Morgan, West Plains.

His father and father-in-law, Sam Maynard, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Moody Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Moody Cemetery, Moody Fire Department or OMC Cancer Treatment Center and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home
