Prayers and thoughts go out to Dea’s family. So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of getting to know Dea when I worked for the County Clerk’s Office several years ago. Had lots of talks with her about the welfare of children about our personal experience with CASA in Oklahoma when adopting our three children. She had such a big heart and will be greatly missed.

Dea will live on through the children and many people she has helped. Dea could show mercy without be judgemental as to why a person needed mercy. She was a dear and true friend to me and I will always remember the times we shared in the CASA program that she ran so well.

Bob, Terry, Mike and Kim, I send my love. Since I first became acquainted with you all way back when Terry and I first became friends, I have thought the world of your family. When I got to know Dea better through CASA, I was even more amazed by her intelligence, compassion and desire to advocate for children in seemingly seemingly insurmountable circumstances to help them overcome a world stacked against them. She did it all with class and professionalism. She was my mentor in the world of foster care and my friend. She had a presence I will always remember and a smile to light up any room. I know your hearts are broken, but what a legacy she has left. She is unforgettable.

Our hearts are broken at this loss of an angel on earth. Dea was so giving; she was loving, supportive, encouraging and uplifting to anyone in need. What an example of kindness and generosity to others, especially children in their formative years. She is responsible for saving children from despair and loneliness. Bob, Mom and Dad loved you both as you know. Dea was considered “family” to them as are you. We know she is in Heaven singing with the angels. It is just so hard to think we won’t see her smiling, brave face for a time. We are sending our love to you and your family.

Bob – I was so sorry to learn of Dea’s illness and passing. She was my first “Mentor”, and taught me more than any text ever could about what is truly important in teaching. She cared for her students as though they were her own children. I know you will all miss her so much. I pray God sends you comfort through the love of family and friends.
