Dorcas Bernice (Howard) Teer

Graveside services for Dorcas Bernice (Howard) Teer, 94, Cabool, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Ball Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Dorcas was born January 1, 1932, to William Henry and Effie Jane (Evans) Howard at the family home in Dora, Missouri.  She passed away March 2, 2026, at Kabul Nursing Homes, Inc., in Cabool, Missouri.

Dorcas was nicknamed Dodo at a young age by her nephew, Noble, when he was unable to say Dorcas, so she was Dodo from that time on.  She was united in marriage to Marion Joseph Teer in 1954.  Dorcas was a Christian and member of the Odom Church of Christ.  She loved to garden and sew.  Later in life she took up cross stitching and quilting.  She made numerous baby quilts for family and friends.  If you have one of these quilts, you know you were very special to her.  Anybody who knew her well, knew she had a sweet tooth.  One grandson said he was sure “Honeybuns will make you live longer because Grandma Dodo has them every day”.

She is survived by her sister, Leona Cash; daughters, Debra (Rodney) Dotson and Rebecca (Brian) Barnes; grandchildren, Riley (Amber) Dotson, Randon (Ashley) Dotson, Mackenzie Harrison, Mathias (Emily) Harrison, and Joseph Barnes (Khloe); great-grandchildren, Sophia, Rayden, Raelynn and Abigail Dotson, Kaiden and Huxten Harrison; many special nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Vineta Howard.

Her parents, Henry and Effie, ex-husband, Joe, children, Karen Marie and Dale Wayne, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Gene Lattion, Velva and Carl Newberry, Eunice and Ralph Trail, Ruth and Dwain Russell and Joyce and Roe Collins, her brothers and sisters-in-law, infant (Twin to Eunice) and James and Rosell Howard and brother-in-law, Bill Cash, preceded her in death.

She has told us for a long time that she was ready to go, her earthly journey is over, so until we meet again, rest easy.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Ball Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ball Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
