Earlene Freeman
Funeral services for Earlene Freeman, 90, Dora, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2026, at Needmore Church of God, Dora, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Freeman passed away at 7:34 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Brooke Haven Healthcare.
Earlene and her twin brother, Earl, were born September 1, 1935, at home near Elijah, Missouri, to Amos and Lillie Duncan. She attended school at Mount Olive, a one-room school near her home, and graduated from Bakersfield High School as valedictorian with the Class of 1953. On July 30, 1954, Earlene was married to Donald Freeman, and they were married for 67 years until his passing on February 17, 2021. She worked at Reliable Life Insurance in Webster Groves, Missouri, General Motors in St. Louis, Missouri, American Motors in Kenosha, Wisconsin and Kellett-Landis Abstract in West Plains, and also worked with her husband raising beef cattle at their farm on Bryant River for 55 years. Earlene enjoyed cooking, garment sewing and gardening, and especially preparing meals for her family for holidays and special occasions. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Needmore Church of God for many years, teaching youth Sunday School for 25 years.
She is survived by one son, Ron Freeman and wife, Barbara; two grandsons, Justin Freeman and wife, Alison and their children, Molly and James; and Brett Freeman and wife, Jessica and their children, Lilly, Addie, and Evie.
Her parents, husband, her siblings, Joe Duncan, Noma Gabel, Earl Duncan, Pauline Barnett and Venita Roth and two special friends, Betty Stanley and Louise Southards, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Freeman will lie in state from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Needmore Church of God. Burial will be at Smith Chapel Cemetery, Zanoni, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pottersville Baptist Church Food Pantry, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brooke Haven Healthcare for their care of Earlene in her final days.

Freeman Families,
My Mother, Ivene(Brickey)Cozort, wanted me to extend her Deepest Sympathy to all of you on the passing of Earlene. My Mother was born and raised at Elijah, MO. and went to school with Earlene at Mount Olive and Bakersfield too. She has wonderful memories of not only Earlene but Earlene’s parents and deceased siblings. My Mother said that Amos would draw water at their well as they walked to and from school to let them drink. She will be keeping all of you in her daily prayers and thoughts. Daily may God provide comfort, peace, strength, and encouragement to each of you. May God bless all of you.

My condolences go out to Ron and Barbara and their families that Earlene loved so much. The world would be a much better place if we had more people like Earlene living in it. I’m sure she contributed so much to it while here especially with her teachings with her Sunday School classes.
Earlene was a good friend of mine while we attended High School. Her kind heart and wonderful smile will be missed by all who knew her.
