Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Dripping Springs Cemetery for Helen Virginia Wood, 78, West Plains, Missouri.

Mrs. Wood died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.

She was born March 17, 1935, in Howell County, Missouri, to Esco Green and Emma Hall Green.  She was married to Gene Johnson and later married Ray Wood.  Mrs. Wood was the owner and operator of Helen's Hickory House and was the founding member of AmVets Post 98 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, James Johnson; daughter-in-law, Sherry Johnson; two grandchildren, Brian Johnson, wife Shelly and Brad Johnson; four grandchildren, Briar, Colten, Cass and Camryn; four half-brothers, David Green, Springfield, Missouri, Henry Green, Joe Green and Bill Green, all of West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husbands, two brothers, Ivan and George Green, one sister, Marie Johnson, half-brother Gene Brower, half -sister Sandra Pete and infant half-sister, Evelyn Green and special nephew, Jim Holt, precede her in death.
