Hustin Allen Shrum
Funeral services for Hustin Allen Shrum, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Shrum died at 8:46 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014, at his home.
He was born October 31, 1933, at St. Louis, Missouri, to William Shrum and Emma Elizabeth Taylor Shrum. He was a thirty year employee at Owens-Illinois Inc., St. Louis, Missouri. On October 8, 1969, he was married at St. Louis, Missouri, to Helen Chronister, who preceded him in death January 5, 2007. On July 18, 2009, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Martha Shrum. He was an avid gardener; having raised prize-winning tomatoes. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Shrum gave his heart to God in 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Shrum, of the family home; one son, David Shrum, Mexico, Missouri; two step-sons, Tim Hull, wife, Lori, Fort Smith, Arkansas and Dan Hickinbotham, Bentonville, Arkansas; two step-grandchildren, Matt Hull, wife Christina, Austin, Texas and Christian Hull, Fort Smith, Arkansas; very special brother-in-law of 60 years, Gene Chronister, West Plains, Missouri, who was also his hunting and fishing buddy; many nieces and nephews, including, Jennifer Rebardie, Becky Henry, Linda and Roy Pierce, Carol Pitts, Maxine McKinley; and special friends, Peggy Underwood, Betty Hull, Joy and Joe Rieger and Jean Hackworth.
His parents, two sisters, Mary Ann Virham and Marie Painter, one brother, David W. Shrum and one sister-in-law, Wanda Chronister, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Alton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
