James Guy O'Dell, 77, West Plains, Missouri, died at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at his home.

He was born January 17, 1935, at Salem, Arkansas, to Oren and Anna Mae Rosier O'Dell.  On August 9, 1958, he was married, at West Plains, Missouri, to Betty Vandagriff.  He was a veteran, having retired from the United States Air Force in 1974 and was a farmer.  Mr. O'Dell was a member of Good News Baptist Chapel for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty O'Dell, of the family home; three children, Kathy Parker and Victor, West Plains, Missouri, James O 'Dell, Jr., of the family home and David O'Dell, wife, Lily, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Casandra O'Dell and Casey Parker, wife, Michell; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Parker and Caden Parker; one brother, Larry Hampton, wife, Sharron, West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Betty Hertzler, husband, Waymon, Hardy, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

His mother, step-father, James Hampton and one sister, Patsy O'Dell, precede him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family or Good News Baptist Chapel, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
