Graveside services for Jerry Eugene Shanks, 71, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Stuart Union Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Shanks died at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his home.

He was born November 28, 1941, at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Aubra and Eunice  May DeLarm Shanks.  On October 10, 1981, he was married at Willow Springs, Missouri, to Carolyn Wheatley, who preceded him in death on April 2, 2009.  Mr. Shanks was a veteran having served in Germany with the United States Army, and before his retirement he was employed with Amyx Manufacturing.  He loved his daughters and spending time with his grandchildren.  Mr. Shanks was a Christian.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather Shanks and Stacy Peardon, husband, John, all of Willow Springs, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kacie, Kailey and Kyra Shanks, Kyle and Dayton Murdy and Mariah and Miley Peardon; two brothers, Bob Shanks, Willow Springs, Missouri and Bill Shanks, wife, Edith, Jacksonville, Alabama; two sisters, Pauline Pyatt, husband, John, West Plains, Missouri and Truda Wood, husband, David, Pomona, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife, sister-in-law, Elaine Shanks and brother-in-law, J. D. Smith, precede him in death.

Mr. Shanks will lie in state from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
