A memorial service for Jo Ed Pounders, 73, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home, 1323 W. Keiser Ave., Osceola, Arkansas.

Mrs. Pounders passed away at 4:40 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at NHC HealthCare, West Plains, Missouri.

She was born October 27, 1948, at Dyess, Arkansas, to Edward and Maude Francis.  Mrs. Pounders taught English as well as journalism for 39 years at Rivercrest High School.  She enjoyed watching sports and loved her grandkids.

She is survived by two children, Jason Pounders and wife, Jillian, Cabot, Arkansas and Haley Mitchell, West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dawson, Stella, Wesley, Charlotte and Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and one brother, Paul Francis, preceded her in death.
