Graveside services for Kenneth Edward Girdley, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2012, at Oak Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Girdley died at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home.

He was born December 22, 1927, at West Plains, Missouri, to Leslie and Inez Minch Girdley.  Mr. Girdley was a veteran having served with the United States Army.  On April 30, 1955, he was married at Fairbanks, Alaska, to Mamie Ruth Sheets, who preceded him in death on February 25, 1996.  On June 11, 1997, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Betty Cantrell, who preceded him in death on November 1, 2010.  Before his retirement, he was a rancher and was employed with the United States Government as a sign painter.  Mr. Girdley was a Christian.

He is survived by four children, Bruce Girdley, wife, Sharon, Birch Tree, Missouri, Scott Girdley, wife, Sarah, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Kevin Girdley, wife, Jennifer, West Plains, Missouri and Larry Girdley, wife, Tracy, Bakersfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Emil Girdley, wife, Lydia, West Plains, Missouri; several half-brothers and half-sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, wives, one son, Michael Girdley and two sisters, Becky Massey and Evelyn Bridges, precede him in death.

Mr. Girdley will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
