I have very fond memories of Lee Olen. My granddad, dad and I used to sing at the Community building at Caulfield on Saturday nights. I sat for hours and listened as Lee Olen & Billy Joe and others would play and sing. Lee Olen was always very kind to me. Praying for strength and peace during this time.

I am so sadden to read this! I met Olen in 2008. I bought a headstall and breast collar her made. He gave me a cassette tape and postcard of his work. I’ve often thought of him through the years and wondered how he was doing. It was a meeting by chance, but he left a huge impression on me. I’m sure Olen is in charge of heavens great horses and mules! He was a fine, fine gentleman. My prayers and condolences.

My wife and I have known Lee and Edith for more than 20 years.
We met nearly every year in Arizona during our yearly vacation from Europe.
We always looked forward to his weekly Hill Billy jam in Salome AZ where the music and atmosphere produced lasting memories !!
The big round “tent” in Salome was a meeting place for all like minded bluegrass enthusiasts.
We were always welcomed into the one big happy family there on Fridays.
Time can never dilute these happy memories of these happy happy days gone by..
Sincere condolences and cherish the memories .
