Lou Alice Goss
Graveside services for Lou Alice Goss, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Goss died at 2:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home.
She was born November 22, 1925, at Elijah, Missouri, to Edgar and Jenny Mullins Bridges. On February 1, 1943, she was married at Norwood, Missouri, to J. C. Goss, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2001. Mrs. Goss worked as a CNA at Ozarks Medical Center and West Vue Nursing Center. She was very witty, free spirited and was “Granny” to everyone. Mrs. Goss was of the Baptist faith and had written in her journal that she was saved at a brush arbor in Bakersfield, Missouri one hot and dry summer. She considered herself a “foot washing” Baptist. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her children are comforted and rejoice in the fact that she is in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
She is survived by three children, Vici McCracken, husband, Dean, West Plains, Missouri, Katie DeAtley, husband, Lee, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jim Goss, wife, Patty, West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Mike DeAtley, Kelly Waggoner, Jennifer Brown, Jason DeAtley, Jodi Watson, Mindy Hoopes and Jacob Goss; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed V. Bridges, wife, Freda, Bakersfield, Missouri; one sister, Ruby Adams Grisham, Sodus, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Ina Bell Lowrance and Esther Goss, both of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, daughter, Peggy Lynn Goss and two sisters, Lynn Coffman and Bonnie Davis, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
