Obituary

Funeral services for Anna Lee Burtrum, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, West Plains, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burtrum passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2014 at West Vue Nursing Center.

Ann is survived by her husband of sixty years, Bob; her daughter, Robin Wagy and husband, Roger of Lee's Summit, Missouri; her son, Robert Burtrum and wife, Jennifer of West Plains; and four grandchildren, Robert (Bo), McKenzie, and Hunter Burtrum, all of West Plains and Ryan Wagy of Lee's Summit.  Her grandkids were the light of her life and she tried to never miss any of their activities.

Ann was born July 8, 1933 to Loyd and Elma Lawrence Price.  She graduated from the Bakersfield High School with the Class of 1950, attended the MO ARK College of West Plains and received a teaching degree from Southwest Baptist University. On September 4, 1953, she married Bob Burtrum; theirs was the first wedding at Baptist Hill Church.  In addition to being a wife, mother and grandmother, Ann was a school bus driver for thirty-two years in the West Plains R-7 School District.  Ann loved hauling the students to sporting events around Missouri and the annual FFA conventions in Kansas City or Louisville.  After retirement from bus driving, she enjoyed working at Broken Bow Archery.  In earlier years, Ann was Postmaster at the Elijah Post Office in Ozark County.  Ann had been an active member of First Baptist Church in West Plains since 1956.  She was an amazing cook. Ann will be sadly and greatly missed by her family, extended family and the many friends in the community.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Baptist Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's honor may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery Fund, Fairview School Foundation, the West Plains Future Farms of America Building Fund, or Summit Christian Academy Development Fund (Lee's Summit, MO) and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

The family would like to say thank you to the care givers at West Vue.
