Bart "Wes" Wesley
Roberts
Oct 28, 1967 — Jun 19, 2026
Funeral services for Bart Wesley "Wes" Roberts, 58, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2026, at Ball Church of Christ.
Wes passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on October 28, 1967, in Niles, Michigan, to John Henry Roberts and Purna Mae (Pitcock) Roberts. When Wes was eight years old, his family returned to the Ozarks, where he would spend the rest of his life building deep roots in the community. On September 7, 1990, he married his best friend, Marcie Tackitt, at Elijah Church of Christ.
Wes was well known for his carpentry skills and remarkable attention to detail. Throughout the years, he built and remodeled countless homes across the area, leaving a lasting mark on the community. In his spare time, he enjoyed creating unique projects, especially birdhouses crafted from reclaimed materials. He also became known as the "Wood Guy," supplying exotic woods to bladesmiths throughout the country.
To many, Wes was simply known as "Coach." He spent years on the baseball field and in the gym, investing in young athletes and building relationships that lasted far beyond any season. His encouragement, guidance, and steady presence touched the lives of many.
Of all the roles he held throughout his life, Wes treasured being a father and a Poppy most of all. Nothing brought him greater pride or joy than his children and grandchildren.
Wes is survived by his children, Jay Roberts and wife Kim; Olivia Mackey and husband Scott; Bobbi Roberts; Austin Roberts; Matthew Roberts; Kaylee Roberts; Stacy Roberts; and Silas Roberts. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Madison, Jase, Waylynn, Rosalie, and William; three brothers, John Roberts and wife Judy, Wayne Roberts, and Jack Roberts and wife Greta; three sisters, Glenda, Brenda, and Connie; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcie Roberts; his parents, John Henry and Purna Mae Roberts; and his sisters, Sharon, Janice, and Patricia.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Langston Street Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W Main St, West Plains.
