Betty Sue Meidell, 88, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at West Vue Nursing Center.

She was born September 2, 1935, at Elijah, Missouri, to George Washington Long and Delphi Alberta Hensley Long.  On December 27, 1965, she was married at Wichita, Kansas to Gary Anthony Meidell, who preceded her in death on October 30, 2012.  Before moving back to Missouri, Betty was the owner and operator of Pickerel Creek Camp in Ontario, Canada.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Gibson, West Plains; one daughter-in-law, Jalynn Moushon, West Plains; one grandson, Danny Hopkins; and four great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, one son, Mike Meidell, one daughter, Mary Sue Shaffer and one sister, Velma Lee Martin, preceded her in death.
