Obituary

Funeral services for Bobby Kenneth Hayes, 83, Calico Rock, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Hayes died at8:25 a.m., Monday, March 3, 2014, at Community Medical Center, Calico Rock, Arkansas.

He was born August 14, 1930, at Mammoth, Missouri, to Truman Hayes and Edna Ruth Mullins Hayes.  He graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 1948 and On May 10, 1951, he was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Lorene Bean.  Mr. Hayes was a veteran, having served a stint in Germany with the United States Army.  He and his brother, J. W. Hayes, started Hayes Brothers Flooring in 1954.  His brother J. W. died Thanksgiving, 1959; Bobby continued to run the business until closing it in 2001.  He enjoyed politics and travel.  In 1968 he ran for Senate against William Fulbright and ran for Governor in 1981.  Mr. Hayes was of the Assembly of God faith.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Hayes, of the family home; two children, Mark Hayes, wife, Kristi, Calico Rock and Bobbie Rush, fiancé, Larry Hazel, Melbourne, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Victoria Rush, Grant Hayes and Casey Rush; one great-grandchild, Rosalynne Cantrell; special family friend, Earletta Blankenship, husband, Jerry, Calico Rock, Arkansas; three brothers, Tom T. Hayes, wife, Carolyn, Springdale, Arkansas, Jerry W. Hayes, Batesville, Arkansas and Danny D. Hayes, Bakersfield, Missouri; one sister, Edna Omega Marvin, husband, Calvin, Sun City West, Arizona; special brother-in-law, Milford May, wife, Freda, Calico Rock, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.

His parents, three sisters, Louise Hayes, Mary Sue Hayes and Julieanne Amyx, one brother, J. W. Hayes and nephew, Jay Hayes, precede him in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Bean Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bean Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
