Graveside services for Carl Denis Busbey, 62, Peace Valley, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Bennett Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Denis passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Peace Valley, Missouri.

He was born September 8, 1963, at West Plains, Missouri, to Willie and Bessie Louise Reid Busbey. Before his retirement, Denis worked at Doss & Harper Stone Co., for over 24 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, riding his side by side, auctions and farming. He was a prankster and loved to pick on everyone. His family, friends and his dogs were his pride and joy.

He is survived by two children, Bobbi Peoples and husband, Dalton, West Plains and Kelsey Nelson and husband, Leon, Gainesville, Missouri; one step-son, Bryan Tharp, State of Iowa; one grandchild, Hunter Nelson, Gainesville, Missouri; two sisters, Barbara Smotherman and husband, Chuck, Birch Tree, Missouri and Brenda Moncrief, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, one brother, Calvin Eugene Busbey and his former wife, Barbara Busbey and his grandparents preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Bennett Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bennett Chapel Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
