Obituary

Funeral services for Carol (Mullins) Schaufler, 82, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Bakersfield Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Carol went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:55 a.m., Sunday, April 19, 2026.

She was born May 17, 1943, to Oscar Halk Mullins and Dora Ann (Bean) Mullins. On January 5, 1963, she married Jimmie Schaufler. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Carol started working for General Electric. They moved back to Bakersfield once their daughter Jana was born, and she began working at Bakersfield school as a secretary. Carol was a member of the Bakersfield Church of Christ. Carol was an amazing Artist in drawing and painting, making many still life pictures and portraits of people. She also loved gardening and especially enjoyed her Peonies and Easter Lilies. She was an avid cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. Carol was a very proficient seamstress and loved making all her daughter Jana’s clothing until she was about the age of 10 years. Carol was very fond of and often talked of the many memories she had as a young teenager, traveling with her cousins and other close family members to Kentucky and Michigan for work. She took great pride in her grandson, Chris “Goob” and his brother, Taylor and cared for her grandchildren, Tyson and Brody. She kept everything they ever made as well as every newspaper clipping they were in and all their mementos.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Schaufler of Bakersfield, Missouri; her

daughter, Jana Gauley and husband, Chris of Bakersfield, Missouri; her sister, Phyliss Arnold of Bakersfield, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; many great- nieces and great-nephews; along with several close cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Hazel Bales and husband, Joe Bill Bales, one brother, Mack Mullins and wife, Mary Ann, brother-in-law, Joe Arnold, three nephews, Buddy, Butch and Ricky Bales and one niece, Pamela Mullins Bonham.

Burial will be at Baptist Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
