Schaufler
May 17, 1943 – April 19, 2026
Funeral services for Carol (Mullins) Schaufler, 82, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Bakersfield Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Carol went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:55 a.m., Sunday, April 19, 2026.
She was born May 17, 1943, to Oscar Halk Mullins and Dora Ann (Bean) Mullins. Carol married Jimmie Schaufler on January 5, 1963 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. The couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Carol began working for General Electric. After the birth of their daughter, Jana, they returned to Bakersfield, where Carol worked as a secretary at Bakersfield School. She was a devoted member of the Bakersfield Church of Christ. Carol was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and painting, creating many still-life pieces and portraits. She also loved gardening, especially tending to her peonies and Easter lilies. An avid cook, she found joy in preparing meals for her family. Carol was also a skilled seamstress and lovingly made most of her daughter Jana’s clothing until she was about ten years old. She often reminisced about her teenage years, traveling with cousins and close family members to Kentucky and Michigan for work—memories she cherished deeply. Carol took great pride in her grandsons, Chris “Goob” and his brother Taylor, and she lovingly cared for her grandchildren, Tyson, Brody, Bentley, and Mason. She saved everything they made, along with newspaper clippings and treasured mementos of their lives.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Schaufler of Bakersfield, Missouri; her daughter, Jana Gauley and husband, Chris of Bakersfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Chris (Goob) Bales and wife, Lacee and Taylor Bales and wife, Michelle; four great-grandsons, Tyson, Bentley, Brody and Mason; her sister, Phyliss Arnold of Bakersfield, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; many great- nieces and great-nephews; along with several close cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Hazel Bales and husband, Joe Bill Bales, one brother, Mack Mullins and wife, Mary Ann, brother-in-law, Joe Arnold, three nephews, Buddy, Butch and Ricky Bales and one niece, Pamela Mullins Bonham.
Burial will be at Baptist Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
