Charlene Marie
Gile
August 30, 1951 – May 8, 2026
In Loving Memory
Charlene Marie Gile (born Clyde) passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at her home in West Plains, Missouri. She lived a full life of 74 years.
Charlene is survived by two siblings, her spouse, five children, 24 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Reflecting on those things of which she was most proud was giving birth to her children (holding their sweet faces close to hers) and teaching them at home while in their formative years. Her heartfelt caring persisted throughout the years as her posterity continued to reach out with concerns, fears, or just for the pure pleasure of hearing her youthful voice. She was always seeking out those in distress, giving a listening ear, a warm smile, and an embrace.
Charlene was a principled woman, a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a life-long student, a musician, a seamstress, a cook, a baker, a gardener, a teacher, and a friend. She exemplified the Savior's example - and her family, her community, and the world are better because of the life she freely gave. On her passing, she expressed her joy in being able to see Jesus - once again leaving her quiet, unequivocal witness of life after death and the joy of the resurrection.
A private burial will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
