A Memorial service for Connie Kate (Merriman) Griffin, a/k/a Mimi, 60, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Curry Street church of Christ.
Mrs. Griffin died at 7:34 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012, at her home. She was born February 13, 1952, at Pikeville, Tennessee, to Mitchell Virgil and Mary Kate Stone Merriman. On December 31, 1971, she was married at Grosse Point, Michigan to Randall Griffin. Connie grew up in Detroit, Michigan where she graduated from Jared W. Finney High School. She graduated from Harding College with a B.A. degree and from Missouri University, with a Master's degree. She taught and retired from the West Plains Elementary Schools. She attended the Curry Street church of Christ congregation.
Connie is survived by her husband, Randall Griffin, of the family home; two children, Jonathan Griffin, wife, Amy, White House, Tennessee and Jamie Barber, husband, Chris, Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Ella, Jude and Gabe Griffin, Kingston and Camden Barber; one sister, Kathy Bryant, Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers, Mike Merriman, wife, Sherry, Wake Forest, North Carolina and Mark Merriman, wife, Amy, Cranford, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Judy Merriman, Smithville, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, Doyle Prestridge, Troy, Michigan; two nieces, Lori Bryant and Olivia Merriman; four nephews, Donald Merriman, Chad Prestridge, Adam Prestridge and Noah Merriman; and one great-niece, Elizabeth Prestridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
