A celebration of life service for David DeWayne Hayes, Sr., 54, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Hayes was born on September 8, 1971, in Mountain View, Missouri, to Lloyd Norman Hayes and Glenda Marie Ford. David passed away on May 20, 2026, at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. He was universally admired, possessed remarkable building skills, and cherished numerous memories of time spent with family and friends. David was always willing to lend a helping hand and resided in West Plains for his entire adult life.

He is survived by his sister, Jessica Anne McCarty; two sons, David DeWayne Hayes Jr. and Cristifur Lee Hayes; and one daughter, Emma May Hayes, as well as several grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many close family members. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, and can be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
