David Lee Russell, Sr. 75, West Plains, Missouri, died at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Ozarks Medical Center.

He was born July 27, 1937, at Omaha, Nebraska, to Ray Roy Russell and Genevieve Swick Russell.  On June 29, 1957, he was married at Kettering, England, to Maureen Ritchie, who preceded him in death on December 22, 2010.  Mr. Russell was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He worked as a policeman for eleven years, then owned and operated his own business and was a member of the neighborhood watch while living in California.  He was a hard worker and loved people; a strong man who never gave up.  His family was an important part of his life and he will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by three children, David Russell, Jr., wife, Claudia, West Plains, Missouri, Colleen Neff, Alta Loma, California and Bradley Russell, wife, Denise, West Plains, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Russell.

His parents, wife, two sisters, Betty and Dorothy and one infant sister, precede him in death.
