Obituary

Funeral services for Earl S. Rowlett, 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Rowlett passed away at 4:29 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2026 at his home.

He was born August 15, 1946, at West Plains, to Jake P. Rowlett and Mary Louise Grove Rowlett. On April 16, 1966, he was married at Mountain View, Missouri, to Shirley Shrimpton. Mr. Rowlett worked at Amyx Manufacturing for over 25 years, where he made lifetime friends. He was also the janitor at Richards School for a number of years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, floating and spending time with his dogs. Mr. Rowlett was a good mechanic and a world class piddler. He attended Life Point Church.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rowlett, of the family home; four children, Earl Rowlett and wife, Joy, Shirley Russell, Rogia McKinney and husband, Mark and Matthew Rowlett and wife, Krystal, all of West Plains; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Perry Rowlett, Willow Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, one son, Jake Rowlett, one daughter, Janet Rowlett, one great-grandson, Axel, two brothers, Paul Rowlett and Lynn Rowlett and one sister, Carol Wilcox, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to West Plains Regional Animal Shelter, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
