Gary Henry Foster, 78, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away on April 9, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1947, in West Plains to Chelsea Okla Foster and Fern (Wrinkles) Foster.
On August 17, 1965, Gary was united in marriage to Kathern “Kathy” Ann Robinson in West Plains, Missouri. Together they shared many years of love, faith, and family.
Gary was a lifelong entrepreneur whose strong work ethic and innovative spirit defined his remarkable 61-year career. He founded seven different businesses over the years, with Foster Drilling being the most well-known and closest to his heart. He had a deep love for his work, especially time spent in his shop, where he could often be found creating and inventing. His talents led him to design and manufacture numerous parts for the drilling industry, leaving a lasting impact through his ingenuity and dedication.
A man of deep faith, Gary was a steadfast Christian, devoting many years of service as a Gideon. He shared his beliefs openly and faithfully with everyone he encountered. Even in his final moments, he continued to witness for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, reflecting a life firmly rooted in faith and purpose.
Gary is survived by his two sons, Gary Randall Foster and wife Jennifer, and Rodney Glendall Foster and wife Carol; four grandchildren, Adam Foster and wife Becca, Rhianna Harvengt and husband TJ, London Foster, and Logan Foster; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Kat Foster; one brother, Stephen Foster and wife Sharon; one sister, Janet Bell; his significant other, Teresa Henry, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Kathy.
A memorial service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1814 County Road 6460, West Plains, MO 65775. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
