Obituary

Graveside services for Jack Dempsey Hubble, 92, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Illinois, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Hubble passed away at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at NHC Healthcare.

He was born July 31, 1923, near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to William Wesley Hubble and Rilla Bassham Hubble; he was the youngest of nine children.  Mr. Hubble was a veteran, having served with the United States Marines during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific area, Solomon Islands and Ryukus Islands and participated in the action against the Japanese at Okinawa; he was wounded twice and received two purple hearts.  On January 19, 1949, he was married in Fulton County, Arkansas to Helen Lucille Rogers, who preceded him in death on April 19, 2012.  Mr. Hubble worked as a steelworker and was a devout Christian, loving husband and devoted father of five children.

He is survived by three children, Marie Komjathy, Rebecca Mercurio and husband, Mark and Eldon Hubble; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

His parents, wife, two sons, Daniel and Wesley Hubble and all of his siblings, precede him in death.
