Obituary

Funeral services for Jackie "Jack" Wayne Hunter, 81, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Hunter entered into eternal rest at 2:27 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home.  He was born December 29, 1933 at Springfield, Missouri the son of the late Roy Stone Hunter and Rosella Finkbinner Hunter. He attended the West Plains High School with the Class of 1953.  Mr. Hunter was a veteran having served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.  On June 23,1978, he was married at Willow Springs, Missouri to Pauline Korte.  Before his retirement, Mr. Hunter was a lifetime member of the California Iron Workers Local #433.  After retirement, he was the manager of the Heart Of The Ozarks Fairgrounds for several years.  Jack enjoyed all things "Zizzer"; he loved to be anywhere there was a Zizzer.   His passion was following all Zizzer sports and supporting the coaches and students.  Mr. Hunter was also an avid Mizzou, Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hunter, of the family home; one son, Tony Phares, West Plains, Missouri; five daughters, Tammy Melvin, husband, Dale, West Plains, Missouri, Kim Reyes, Rogers, Arkansas, Brenda Hovey, husband, Keith, West Plains, Missouri, Bonnie Low, husband, Johnny, West Plains, Missouri, and Belinda Kirkland, husband, David, Branson, Missouri; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren;  one sister, Betty Dunaway, Willow Springs, Missouri; sister-in-laws, Wanda Hunter, West Plains, Missouri and Kristy Hunter, Morris, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews

His parents, four brothers, Roy Edward, Tom, Bobby Joe and Richard Hunter, and brother-in-law, Sidney Dunaway, precede him in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 13th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Hospice and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
