Graveside services for James Clyde Brower, 88, of Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

James Brower passed away peacefully at his home on September 18, 2026. He was born July 15, 1938, in Olden, Missouri, to Cecil Brower and Dorothy Burgess.

James was united in marriage to Barbara Douglas on February 26, 1960, in West Plains, Missouri. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, faith, and many cherished memories.

James was a hard worker who enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, cutting wood, and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was making and painting his own fishing lures. He also enjoyed attending gospel singings with his wife, Barbara. James had a good sense of humor and especially enjoyed joking and visiting with others. His friendly nature and ability to make people laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Olden, Missouri.

James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Brower, of the family home; two children, Doug Brower and wife, Tambra, of Willow Springs, and Penny Mallonee and husband, Raymond, of Webb City; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Rhodes, Judy Hanshaw, and Myrna Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Lou Arnote; one great-grandson, Cohen Gaines; and his uncle and aunt, Bill and Ruth Van Winkle.
