James Donald Hicks, 79, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 12:49 a.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Ozarks Healthcare.

He was born March 2, 1945, at Salina, Kansas, to Homer Hicks, Sr. and Imogene Barton Hicks.  In 1965 he was married at West Plains, to Linda Tibbit, who preceded him in death on January 20, 1986.  He worked as a welding instructor.  Mr. Hicks was a veteran, having served with the United States Army.  He enjoyed leather making, building race cars and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by three children, Jacinda Hyatt and husband, Martin, Brian Hicks and wife, Michelle and Rebekah Jones and husband, James; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents and wife preceded him in death.
