Funeral services for Jerry Neal Acklin, 58, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Acklin passed away at 12:59 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Cox South, Springfield, Missouri.

He was born September 20, 1967, in Mons, Belgium, where his father was stationed during military service, to Robert and Connie Hunt Acklin. On August 17, 1994, he was married at Gainesville, Missouri, to Diana Chowning. Jerry enjoyed sports, playing golf, running marathons, and cooking. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He was a very loving and loyal husband, father, son and brother. Jerry enjoyed a good educated discussion and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Acklin; four children, Elizabeth Chowning, Donovin Acklin and wife, Rebecca, Robert C. Acklin and Laureen Hainey and husband, Dustin; five grandchildren and one on the way, Araina, Ellie Rose, Gabriel, Brianna, Graham and Camilla; his father, Robert L. Acklin; one brother, Michael Acklin; one sister, Deborah Acklin; and two nieces and one nephew.

His mother preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Association, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
