Funeral services Joella Maxine Nicholson, 56, Newton, Kansas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nicholson passed away at 6:32 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born June 22, 1961, at West Plains, Missouri, to Paul Dutton and Lowena Wheat Swearingen Turner.  On May 11, 1985, she was married at Wichita, Kansas, to Douglas Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson was a homemaker and worked as an LPN.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and helping mankind.  Mrs. Nicholson was a believer.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Nicholson; two children, Sabrina Nicholson and Steven Nicholson; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Katlin; her mother, Lowena Swearingen Turner and husband, Dwayne; two brothers, Bill Dutton and wife, Connie and Michael Reeves; one sister, Brenda Turner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her father and one brother, Bobby, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship of Christians and Jews and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
