Karen Rene Reed, born on June 14, 1959, in Santa Ana, California, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at Select Special Hospital. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and a deep connection with nature, marked by her enduring partnership and commitment.

Karen shared an extraordinary bond with her husband Victor Reed, with whom she was together for 49 years and married for 47 years. Their union was a central part of her life, providing steadfast support and companionship. Together, they built a loving family and a home filled with warmth and joy.

An avid enthusiast of rural life and the outdoors, Karen’s interests and hobbies painted a portrait of a woman deeply connected to the earth and its creatures. She always had chickens and enjoyed fishing, pursuits that brought her peace and happiness. Furthermore, she once raised pheasants, showcasing her nurturing spirit and affinity for wildlife. Karen’s intelligence was evident to all who knew her; she was regarded as a very smart woman whose wisdom influenced those around her.

Karen’s family was the heart of her world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Victor Reed of West Plains, Missouri; her son Victor Reed Jr. and his wife Ebony of Virginia; and her cherished grandchildren Victoria, Sydney, Rocky, and Robert. These loved ones carry forward her legacy of kindness, intelligence, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Alderson and Glenda Alderson; her brother, Norman Alderson; her sister, Diana; and her son, William Reed. Their memories remain integral to her story and continue to hold a special place in the hearts of her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Karen’s remarkable journey and contributions. The service will take place on June 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a conclusion at 11:00 a.m., at Union Grove General Baptist Church located at 8561 State Route AD, Dora, Missouri. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community to reflect on her impactful life and find comfort in shared remembrance.
