Graveside services for Marvin Lee Judd, 71, of West Plains, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday July 3, 2026 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
For 71 years, Marvin Lee Judd filled the world around him with music. On June 15, 2026, the song of his life came to a close in West Plains, Missouri, but the melodies, memories, and joy he shared will continue to play on in the hearts of family and friends.
Born on November 17, 1954, in West Plains, Missouri, Marvin was the son of Ogle Len Judd and Elsie Jane Ferguson Judd, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1973 and spent his life pursuing the things he loved most: music, family, faith, and the simple joy of working with his hands.
If there was music nearby, Marvin was usually in the middle of it. He spent a lifetime with a guitar close at hand and a song ready to share. From community events and local venues to family gatherings and visits with friends, Marvin never met many strangers once the music started. He loved country, bluegrass, gospel, and just about anything with Southern roots, and he chased that passion wherever it led, including Nashville, Tennessee, and Mountain View, Arkansas. Whether performing under his own name or alongside fellow musicians in various bands, Marvin's greatest joy wasn't being on stage, it was seeing people smile, sing along, and enjoy the music right beside him.
In recognition of his contributions to music, Marvin was honored with the George D. Hay Hall of Fame Award in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, an achievement that reflected both his talent and dedication to the craft he loved.
While music was his greatest passion, Marvin's interests were many. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, electronics, and auto mechanics, and was known for always having a project underway. He loved tinkering, trading, swapping, restoring, and creating things with his hands. In recent years, he took great pride in restoring antique straight razors and crafting custom handles for his growing collection. He was also an avid amateur radio operator, proudly holding the call sign KF0RK.
Marvin's sister, Norvella, fondly remembers the many trips they took together to the racetrack in West Plains, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He was a devoted dog lover and cherished the companionship of his faithful pets throughout the years.
As a youth, Marvin attended Pleasant Grove Community Church in Willow Springs. In recent years, he enjoyed studying the ministry of Jimmy Swaggart through his study Bible, sermons, and books, finding encouragement and spiritual guidance through those teachings.
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife, Robin “Elaine” Judd, to whom he was married for 26 years; his daughter, Amanda and husband Tim Shaw of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; granddaughter Samantha Shaw; stepdaughter Felina Brown; stepson Brett Trimmer; stepgranddaughters Malori Smith and Chloe Bell; sister Norvella Faye Calhoun and husband Darren Calhoun of Mountain Home, Arkansas; nieces Nikki Kennedy of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Noressa Kennedy Hinkler and husband Ian Hinkler of Rogers, Arkansas; along with many extended family members, friends, fellow musicians, and listeners whose lives were touched by his music and friendship.
Though Marvin's earthly song has ended, the music he shared, the memories he created, and the love he gave to family and friends will continue to resonate for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and can be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W Main St, West Plains, Missouri.
