Obituary

Funeral services for Nealma Ruth Bennett, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2026, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bennett passed away at 9:10 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026 at Brooke Haven Healthcare.

She was born February 15, 1935, in Ozark County, Missouri, to Ira E. Briscoe and Artie Mariah Tilson Briscoe. On May 3, 1952, she was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Harold Bennett, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2001. Mrs. Bennett was a friend to all and enjoyed taking care of others in any way that she could. She enjoyed helping with organizing activities at the Walnut Grove Apartments. She also enjoyed hosting and feeding people, especially Sunday dinners. She loved to cook and she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and was a member of Spring Creek Community Church.

She is survived by three children, Jim Bennett and wife, Charlotte, West Plains, Bonnie Murphy, West Plains and John Bennett and wife, Rena, Waynesville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Lorrie, Jody, Jennifer, Matt and Casey; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Clayton, Sarah, Mandy, Ashton, Alexis and Alex; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Beverly Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, one son-in-law, Larry Murphy, one daughter-in-law, Jan Bennett, one grandson, Luke, and all of her siblings, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pottersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pottersville Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
