Obituary

Funeral services for Rex Lane Galloway, 74, of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the Langston Street Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Rex passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on July 26, 1951, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to C.L. Galloway and Rosa Lee (Sibley) Galloway. On September 24, 1970, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Galloway, in South Fork, Missouri. Together they shared more than 55 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love.

A sweet and loving, God-fearing man, Rex was known for his kind heart and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He cherished his family and friends, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His Christian faith was the foundation of his life, and he sought to live each day with compassion, humility, and gratitude.

Rex found happiness in the outdoors and had a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, especially coon hunting, and working with horses. Whether he was riding, caring for, or roping, he was truly at home in the saddle. He also enjoyed playing music, and making lasting memories with family and friends through the activities he loved most.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn Galloway; his daughter, Melissa Galloway Harmon (Ricky Falwell); his son, Richard Galloway (Melonie); ten grandchildren: Mackenzie Harmon (Bobby Brooks), Gracie Harmon (Levi Uchtman), Cody Falwell (Chelsea), Bryce Falwell (Brittni), Rylea Moss (Gannan), Marlea Galloway (Logan LaFevers), Karlea Galloway (Elijah Cagle), Morgan Rieck, Madison Walker (Riley Walker), and Ethan Squires (Delaney); eighteen great-grandchildren: Lainey Brooks, Kylie Brooks, Raegan Moss, Charli Moss, Lane LaFevers, Saylor Cagle, Ripley Cagle, Tucker Reid, Paisley Reid, Mavery Duggins, Caseton Walker, Miller Walker, Addi Falwell, Ellie Falwell, Casen Falwell, Aedan Falwell, Weston Falwell, and Blakely Falwell; one brother, George Galloway (Ruby); one sister, Vallerie Lievsay (Richard); his special cousins, John and Rhonda Mincey; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Rosa Lee Galloway; his beloved granddaughter, Raegan Galloway; and his son-in-law, Keith Harmon.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, South Fork Cemetery, or Hospice House of the Ozarks, and can be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W Main St, West Plains.
