Robert Charles Blackiston, a cherished husband, devoted father, passed away on June 10, 2026, in West Plains, Missouri. Born on November 23, 1984, in Chestertown, Maryland, Robert’s journey through life was marked by boundless love, joy, and a spirit that touched all who knew him.

Robert was inseparable from his wife Jennifer, with whom he shared twenty years together, including eight cherished years of marriage. Their love was a beacon of strength and happiness, a partnership that endured with deep devotion. As a father to five wonderful children—Michael Trey Johnston and Kasey of Millington, Maryland; William Scott and Carol of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Max, Jacob, and Elaina Blackiston, all of West Plains—Robert’s love was a constant and comforting presence, they were the most important things he treasured in life. He was also a proud grandfather to Anna Leigh Scott.

Robert’s warm and lively spirit extended beyond his family. He shared a close bond with Dan Duncan and his wife Marilyn of West Plains, Missouri, whom he regarded as his parents. His kin included brother Walt Blackiston of Sacramento, Pennsylvania, sister Katie Blackiston of Rock Hall, Maryland, two aunts, Kathy Daggett and Shirley Nicholson, and his uncle Bob Lohr. He was also blessed with eight cousins, two nephews, two nieces and many loving in-laws, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

The memories of those who preceded him in death, including his mother Melody Lohr, his grandparents James and Elizabeth Lohr who lovingly raised him after his mother’s passing, and his niece Ashley Blackiston, were ever present in Robert’s life and influenced the man he became.

Robert was a man larger than life, with a playful nature that made him a cherished prankster among friends and family. His love of the outdoors was evident in his passions for fishing, hunting, and an appreciation for cars. He carried a deep affection for animals, connecting with them in a way that revealed his gentle and compassionate soul. A devoted sports fan, Robert’s enthusiasm for the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens was well known and often sparked joyful camaraderie.

Faith was a cornerstone of Robert’s life. As a dedicated member of The Bridge Church in West Plains, he treasured his church family and found strength and comfort in his daily readings of the Bible, nurturing a personal relationship with the Lord that sustained him through life’s challenges and triumphs.

On June 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a Celebration of Life will be held at The Bridge Church, located at 10105 US-63, West Plains, Missouri. This gathering will offer family, friends, and all who knew Robert the opportunity to honor his remarkable life, share stories, and find solace in their memories of a man whose heart was as vast as his spirit was infectious.  A Celebration of Life will be held in Maryland at a later date in July.

Robert Charles Blackiston’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. His presence enriched the lives of all who knew him, and while he will be deeply missed, the imprint of his kindness, humor, and boundless love will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
