Obituary

A Celebration of Life Service for Robert Russell Hodgson, Sr., 63, Mansfield, Missouri, will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Hodgson passed away on June 18, 2026. He was born in Belvidere, Illinois; Robert lived a life rooted in family, service, and a love for the outdoors. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that sense of dedication and strength throughout his life. Robert loved fishing and spending time outdoors whenever he could. He especially enjoyed being surrounded by nature and finding peace in the simple things life had to offer. He also had a love for scroll saw work, a skill passed down to him by his father. Following in his father's footsteps, Robert found joy in continuing a craft that connected him to cherished memories and family traditions. Above all else, Robert loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christy Hodgson; his daughter, Patricia Hodgson and her fiancé, Travis Summers; his son, Robert Russell Hodgson Jr. (RJ); his grandchildren, Hunter Bartlett, Madalynn Bartlett, Avery Bartlett, and Hazel Bartlett; his sister, Vicki Richardson and husband, Jerry; his brother, Daniel Hodgson and wife, Sara; and his brother, James Hodgson and wife, Christina; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Lee Hodgson, and his mother, Bonnie Louise Hodgson.

Robert will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors, his quiet strength, and the memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will remain forever. May he rest in peace.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
