Funeral services for Roy Vernon Rhine, 94, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Rhine passed away at 5:22 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at his home.
He was born October 8, 1931, in Ozark County, Missouri, to Dewey Garfield Rhine and Sula Burtram Rhine. On February 23, 1951, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Nellie Pauline Cooper, who preceded him in death on November 7, 2014. Mr. Rhine was a farmer and had been a supervisor at International Shoe Factory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and putting up hay; he especially enjoyed going to Springfield with his family and counting how many trains they saw along the way. He always loved going to Cracker Barrel and Sam’s Club. He also enjoyed raising dogs for a time and watching baseball games with his wife. Roy loved John Wayne westerns. Mr. Rhine was a member of Hawkins Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by two children, Jerry Rhine and Teresa Hensley and husband, Ronnie, all of Caulfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Crystal Hite and husband, Tim, Jared Rhine, Jamie Hensley and wife, Amber and Christopher Hensley and fiancé Kat Spohrer; seven great-grandchildren, Mason Ousley and wife, Rachel, Jacob Rhine and wife, Rachel, Dylan Hardy, Sara Rhine, Shelby McLain and husband, Paul, Dante Hensley and Braelyn Hensley; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Rhine and wife, Mary; two sisters, Pauline Scherff and Helen Laxton; two sisters-in-law, Linda Deatherage and Mary Martin; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Clifford Lawing.
His parents, wife, daughter-in-law, Phyllis Rhine, three brothers, Ray Rhine, Charles Wayne Rhine and Floyd Rhine and one nephew, Keith Rhine, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Amy Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amy Cemetery or Alzheimer’s Association, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
