Graveside services for Shirley Ann Wood, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wood passed away at 11:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at her home.

She was born July 20, 1943, at Mason City, Iowa, to Lloyd Hayes and Margaret Keeling Hayes. Shirley loved baking and enjoyed playing cards with her brothers. She was a very loving although direct person. Shirley enjoyed caring for others and took great care of her parents, siblings and great-grandbabies. Shirley worked as a waitress at Ryan’s from the day they opened until they closed; some people drove 80 miles just to sit at her table.

She is survived by three children, Rebecca Sue Hayes, Jerry Allen Wood and wife, Tammy and Gerald Dean Wood and wife, Terry; five grandchildren, Misty, Niki, Brandi, Emily and Seth; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Hayes and wife, Karen and Ronnie Hayes and wife, Linda; one sister, Debbie Hayes; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, three brothers, JR, James and Terry Hayes and one sister, Donna Wood, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
