Stanley Joe Harris, born September 28, 1950, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, peacefully passed away on June 25, 2026, at Cedarhurst, West Plains, Missouri. His life was marked by unwavering dedication to his work, devotion to his family, and a joyful embrace of his many interests.
Stanley’s early years in Willow Springs cultivated in him a deep appreciation for community and hard work, values that would guide him throughout his life. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, laying the groundwork for a successful and productive career.
For 26 years, Stanley served as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service. Through his steadfast service, he became a familiar and valued member of his workplace, providing consistent and friendly assistance to those he served and worked alongside. Following his retirement, Stanley enjoyed the fruits of his labor surrounded by loved ones and the activities he cherished.
Stanley had a zest for life reflected in his many hobbies and passions. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, known especially for his unwavering support of the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. He also found great pleasure on the golf course, and weekends you often saw him antiquing or exploring yard sales in search of hidden treasures. These pursuits brought him joy and connected him with many in the community who shared similar interests.
Family was central to Stanley’s life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Vina Harris, who shared in all aspects of his journey. Stanley’s love and guidance will be dearly missed by his brother, Robert Harris and Jeanne, and his sisters: Lillie Wheeler and Steven, Ella Eding, and Netta Yardley and Royce. Also surviving are two cherished sisters-in-law, Shirley Harris and Deb Woolard. Ten nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Stanley is preceded in death by his father Charles Harris, his mother Verba Harris, his brother Charles Harris II, his niece Charlotte Pickard, and his brother-in-law Richard Eding. Their memories remain an enduring part of Stanley’s story.
A graveside service honoring Stanley Joe Harris will be held on July 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, 5604 US Hwy 63, Pomona, Missouri. Family, friends, and all who knew Stanley are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life and legacy.
Stanley Joe Harris will be fondly remembered for his steadfast character, passionate interests, and above all, the extraordinary devotion he showed to his family and friends. His presence will be greatly missed.
