Thomas Joseph Somody, 87, Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away at 3:15 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Shady Oaks Health Care, Thayer, Missouri.

He was born March 10, 1938, at Akron, Ohio, to Al Somody and Catherine Trombley Somody.  On April 7, 1961, he was married to Barbara Shriver, who preceded him in death on November 9, 2017; they shared fifty-six years together.  Mr. Somody was a veteran, having served with the United States Army from 1956 to 1959.  Before his retirement he worked as a civil engineer.  Mr. Somody enjoyed being outdoors, working on construction projects, shooting guns and he loved German Shepherd dogs.

He is survived by three children, Michel Somody, State of Arizona, Stacy Rhodes and husband, Chance, State of Missouri and Deborah Black and husband, Ken, State of Colorado; five grandchildren, Kari Pereira and husband, Terence, Kristi Felker and husband, Brad, Kenneth Justin Black, Julianne Rau and husband, Skye and Kaitlyn Duddridge and husband, Tye; and seven great-grandchildren.

His parents, his wife, two brothers, Tim and Terry Somody and one daughter-in-law, Diane Somody, preceded him in death.
