Graveside services for Vernie Lona Stein, 75, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at Amy Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stein passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born February 2, 1949, at Porum, Oklahoma, to Oscar and Ruby Hughes.  On July 3, 2004, she was married at Theodosia, Missouri, to Paul Stein.  Vernie enjoyed cross stitching and collecting sea shells and figurines.  She loved her children and grandchildren and was a loving mother and devoted wife.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Stein; three children, Arnold Deatherage, Chris Stein and Steven Stein; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Patricia Hughes (Hale).

Her parents, one daughter, Melissa Baker and two brothers, John and Arnold Hughes, preceded her in death.
