Sarah Lynn Thompson

Funeral services for Sarah Lynn Thompson of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Plains under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Sarah Lynn Thompson, 73, of West Plains, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026, in West Plains. She was born on December 3, 1952, to Howard Borgstadt and Evelyn (Lohman) Borgstadt.
On June 30, 1973, Sarah married Jim Thompson in West Plains, Missouri. Their marriage was marked by faithfulness, endurance, and deep devotion. Sarah carried these qualities into every role she held throughout her life. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a joyful great-grandmother, investing herself fully in the people entrusted to her care.
Sarah lived with both gentleness and determination. An avid runner, she regularly competed in local 5K and 10K races and ran the Arkansas State Marathon three times, once earning third place in her age division. She also had a lifelong fondness for collecting anything related to M&M’s, a small joy that reflected her playful spirit.
Creativity flowed naturally from Sarah. She was a gifted artist, especially known for her detailed pencil sketches, which revealed both skill and patience. Her love for children and service was evident in her years as a Brownie Scout leader, as well as her faithful involvement in teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Above all, Sarah’s life was anchored in her faith. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, where she worshiped, served, and found enduring hope in Christ.
Sarah will be remembered for her steady presence, her servant’s heart, her perseverance, and the love she so freely gave. Her life bore quiet witness to faithfulness in both ordinary and extraordinary things, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue through generations.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Thompson of West Plains, Missouri; two children, Amy Logan and husband Tim of Rogersville, Missouri, and Chris Thompson and wife Megan of West Plains; six grandchildren, Joseph Thompson and wife Chelsey, Abbi Harris and husband Langdon, Olivia Pitts and husband Zack, Adrienne Thompson, Julia Logan, and Bill Thompson; one great-grandchild, Mallory Harris, and one on the way; one sister, Susan Higgins and husband Dan; one special aunt and uncle, Jim and Florence Evert; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeffrey Scott Thompson.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ozark Healthcare Foundation, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
