Vera May Wickham
Funeral services for Vera May Wickham, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Abundant Life Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wickham died at 1:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home.
She was born September 25, 1928, at West Plains, Missouri, to James Frank Williams and Cyntha May Willard Williams. On December 13, 1950, she was married at Springfield, Missouri, to Vernon Gene Wickham, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1999. She was a homemaker; a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary for many years and volunteered for West Plains Regional Animal Shelter, where she did sewing and thank you cards. Mrs. Wickham was a long time member of Abundant Life Baptist Church.
She is survived by six children, Donna Caldwell and husband, Mike, West Plains, Missouri, Perry Wickham, West Plains, Missouri, Trish Hammen and husband, Dennis, West Plains, Missouri, Linda Lewis and significant other, Cliff Fite, West Plains, Missouri, Dennis Wickham and significant other, Jennifer Perry, West Plains, Missouri and Lee Wickham and friend, Tad Duncan, Tampa, Florida; fourteen grandchildren, Chris Caldwell and wife, Marietta, West Plains, Missouri, Michael Wickham and wife, Lisa, West Plains, Missouri, Bryan Wickham, Willow Springs, Missouri, Jennifer Adams and husband, Allen, Louisville, Texas, Kristie Vandventer and husband, Gary, Bloomfield, Indiana, Travis Bales, West Plains, Missouri, Brianna Hammen, West Plains, Missouri, Shane Whited and wife, Cindy, West Plains, Missouri, Nicholas Lewis and wife, Aubrey, Anchorage, Alaska, Brittany Lewis, West Plains, Missouri, Brad Wickham and wife, Mandy, West Plains, Missouri, Nathan Wickham, West Plains, Missouri, Colt Perry, West Plains, Missouri and Luke Perry, West Plains; fourteen great-grandchildren, Stephen, Kristin, Alyssa, Kaylee, Danielle, Ryan, Taylor, Matthew, Zane, Cory, Zhilynn, Zahren, Noah and Raelyn; one great-great-grandchild, Isabella; one sister, Ruby Hanks and husband, Jr., Willow Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one sister, Norma Stubbs and one daughter-in-law, Marsha Wickham, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
