William Dale Brown, the son of Fred and Sybil Byers Brown, was born February 7, 1926 in West Plains, MO. Dale passed peacefully on April 15, 2018, at the age of 92.
In 1946 Dale married Mildred Cearley of West Plains, who preceded him in death on June 10, 1990. Dale served in the US Navy from 1944-1946, worked for JC Penney through 1967 and owned the Western Auto Store in West Plains until 1983.
Dale is survived by two daughters, Luann Miller and husband Mike, and Janell Parry and husband Jim; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Dale is also survived by his wife, Alita.
Dale was buried at Howell Memorial Cemetery on April 26. Memorial contributions may be made to NHC Garden Fund, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Paul “Norman” Bussen, Jr., 89, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Bussen passed away at 11:45 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at NHC Healthcare.
He was born September 24, 1928, at Richmond, Indiana, to Paul Norman Bussen, Sr., and Bessie Gifford Bussen. On May 27, 1977, he was married at Hinckley, Illinois, to Carol Wilkening. Mr. Bussen was Assistant Vice-President of Driv-Lok, Inc., in Sycamore, Illinois and retired in 1994. He officiated sporting events for thirty-five years; he was active in playing sports in his younger years and an avid golfer in his retirement. Mr. Bussen was a member of Lion’s Club and was a past district Governor and had also served on the West Plains Park Board and West Plains Country Club Board. Mr. Bussen was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir, which brought him great joy.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Bussen; six children, Laurel Bevill and husband, Terry, William “Bill” Bussen and wife, Barbara, Robert Bussen and wife, Kathy, Cindy Hart, James “Jim” Bussen and wife, Brenda and Kyle Bussen and wife, Diana; two step-children, Don Larsen and wife, Rachael and Brenda Bussen and husband, Jim; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Fellinger and husband, Bill; two brothers, Larry Bussen and Ronald Bussen and wife, Marilyn; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Adams passed away at 2:15 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born March 7, 1933, at Frederick, Oklahoma, to Clarence Adams and Bessie Pruitt Adams. On February 22, 1954, he was married at Enid, Oklahoma, to Lydia Pauline Decker. He graduated from High School in Frederick, Oklahoma, with the Class of 1951 and attended Business College in Enid, Oklahoma. Mr. Adams was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. He worked at S. H. Kress Co. in Enid and Tulsa Oklahoma, Champion Oil Co. and retired in 1986 from Phillips Petroleum, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1991, he moved to West Plains, Missouri, where he had two horses and a dog that he enjoyed very much. He loved photography, taking pictures and working with electronics and his computer. Mr. Adams was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Lydia Pauline Adams; one brother, Joe Adams, one nephew, Jerry Adams; and several cousins.
His parents, one son, one daughter, one brother, Tom Adams and one nephew, Jeff Adams, preceded him in death.

Tyrone Dennis Hoyle, 78, West Plains, Missouri, formerly of Dixon, Illinois and Mesa, Arizona, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born July 6, 1939, at Dixon, Illinois, to John Leslie Hoyle and Esther Ilene Horton Hoyle. On September 8, 1961, he was married at Dixon, Illinois, to Arlene Carr. Mr. Hoyle was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. Before his retirement, he worked as a test car driver for GM, a job he loved. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and making pens that he gave to friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Arlene Hoyle, of the family home; two children, Timothy Alan Hoyle, Mesa, Arizona and Tracey Kaye Erickson, West Plains, Missouri; three grandchildren, Samantha Hoyle, Paul Erickson and wife Holly and Kayci Bray and husband, Justin; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Riley and Presley Erickson; one brother, John L. Hoyle and wife, Jeanie, Hondo, Texas; one sister, Myrna Nixon, Tyler, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and brother-in-law, Denver Nixon, preceded him in death.

Mr. Richey passed away at 1:43 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Brooke Haven Health Care.
He was born May 9, 1929, at Skidmore, Missouri, to Lee Edward Richey and Veleta May Busbey Richey. On September 19, 1964, he was married to Joyce C. Webb, who preceded him in death on April 18, 2014. Mr. Richey worked as a farmer and carpenter; he worked at Pruett Home Improvement for twenty-five years. He loved gardening and sharing his fresh vegetables with friends; he enjoyed raising flowers and being in the fresh air and sunshine. Mr. Richey attended New Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by three grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Richey and wife, Jeanie and Bob Richey; two sisters, Lola Winters and Donna Coppedge; and special friends, Charlie and Sherri Sams and Kari and Wes Moore.

She was born June 22, 1968, at West Plains, Missouri, to Bobby Eugene Collins and Merlene Ruby Robinson Collins. She was married July 3, 2000, at Crider, Missouri, to Denis Busbey. Barb enjoyed attending yard sales, flea markets and auctions. She loved to ride 4-wheelers with her friend, Barb.
She is survived by three children, Bobbi Ann Busbey, Kelsey Lynn Nelson and husband, Leon and Bryan Edward Tharp; four grandchildren, Oleatta, Baylie, Trevan and Hunter; her former husband, Denis Busbey; one brother, Ronnie Gene Collins and significant other, Angie McDonald; mother-in-law, Bessie Busbey; and special friends, Barb Wallander Smotherman and husband, Chuck, Eva Shockey, Irene Hoyt and Ronda Powell.

She was born June 19, 1953, at Sycamore, Illinois, to James and Norma Jean Littlejohn McLarning. On March 9, 1974, she was married at Rockford, Illinois, to Tony Johnson. Mrs. Johnson had worked at Baxter Laboratories, Mountain Home, Arkansas, before her retirement. She enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, art projects, making cards, watching television and planning parties and events. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Johnson, of the family home; two children, Michelle Parker and husband, Casey, West Plains, Missouri and Marcus Johnson and wife, Katrina, Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Peyton, Caden and Ren Parker and Jonas Johnson; two sisters, Robin Fitzgerald, West Plains, Missouri and Brenda McLarning-Johnson and husband, Mark, Mountain Home, Arkansas; one nephew, one niece and their families, Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. and Shayna Shelton.

Mrs. Adkisson went to her eternal home at 11:54 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Brooke Haven Health Care, the place she considered home for the past four years. Her loving family was by her side.
She was born February 13, 1931, at Myrtle, Missouri, to Loran Wetzel and Delphia Phenix Wetzel. Glenda attended West Plains High School. On May 7, 1949, she was married at the Assembly of God Church, Salem, Arkansas, to Lehman Adkisson. Along with her husband, she was the owner of West Plains Fence Company for many years and Glenda’s Dress Shop. She was involved with HOBA Bluegrass, loved her family and enjoyed going to flea markets, cooking, and collecting antiques. Mrs. Adkisson received God as her personal savior at an early age; her faith and relationship with her Lord was vital as to whom she was; she was a member of Victory Family Worship Center for sixty-two years, where she willingly served the Lord and her church family in any way she could. Her presence will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years, Lehman Adkisson, of the family home; four children, Brenda Montgomery and husband, David, Willow Springs, Missouri, Ron Adkisson and wife, Becky, Pomona, Missouri, Randy Adkisson and wife, Charlotte, West Plains, Missouri and Robin Wray and husband, Bart, Greenbrier, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Erik Montgomery and wife, Katie, Elaina Martin and husband, Chad, Trevor Hatfield, Kendra Gleghorn and husband, Chad, Nicholas Wray, Spencer Adkisson and Jackie Wray; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ina and Betty; and several nieces and nephews.

Dakota worked at North Arkansas Fence & Patio Co. He enjoyed basketball, hunting and being outdoors. Mr. Ellison attended First Assembly of God Church, Bakersfield.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Ellison, of the family home; one daughter, Arianna Ellison, of the family home; his parents, Dennis Ellison and wife, Laura and Georgian Anderson and husband, Morris; two brothers, D. J. On May 2, 1944, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to Nolene Melcome Callahan who preceded her in death on January 19, 1987. Mrs. Callahan enjoyed gardening Sunday Dinners, farming and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Jack Callahan, wife, Glenda, Pottersville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jeff Mayberry, fiancée, Carrie, James Mayberry, Wendy Barrett, husband, Jason, John Callahan, wife, Wendy and Tammy Mayberry; thirteen great-grandchildren; twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Flowers passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Eunice was born December 8, 1932 in Twin Bridges, Missouri, the daughter of Odie L. and Elberta E. “Bertie” Welch Croney. She attended Dora public schools. Eunice worked fifteen years as a retail associate for Walmart, working in West Plains, Branson, Leavenworth, Kansas and Topeka, Kansas, retiring in 1990. She was also a homemaker and mother.
Survivors include one son, Gary Allcorn and wife Sue, Mclouth, Kansas; two daughters, Beverly Krunk, Dixon, Tennessee and Cindy Willard, Oskaloosa, Kansas; one sister, Ruby Warren, West Plains, Missouri; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and one son, Bobby Allcorn, two brothers, Buck and Bill and three sisters, Dorthy, Hazel and Helen.

Mrs. Spence died 5:25 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at NHC HealthCare, West Plains. She was born February 15, 1932 at Sage, Arkansas the daughter of P. E. Womack and Maude Taylor Womack. On July 22, 1949, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to J. T. (Jack) Dawson who preceded her in death on September 22, 2004. On October 25, 2006, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to George Bryan Spence. Before her retirement, Mrs. Spence had been employed at Eaton Corporation for twenty-five years. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and loved all of her family. Mrs. Spence had been a long time member of the First General Baptist Church of West Plains.

Mrs. Shanks passed away at 7:00 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home, Festus, Missouri.
She was born July 23, 1923, at Piggott, Arkansas, to Charles Martin and Carrie Burch Martin. On November 3, 1942, she was married to Harley Ray Shanks at Zanoni, Missouri, who preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. Frankie completed high school in Dora, Missouri and went on to attend Draughn’s Business College, Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Shanks worked as a secretary for St. Paul Insurance Company in St. Louis for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Shanks owned and operated a mobile home park and mini storage in Poplar Bluff for many years. She was a member of Poplar Bluff Artist Guild. She was very good at multi-tasking, was an artist and enjoyed photography. Mrs. Shanks was a member of Church of Christ, she had attended Poplar Bluff Church of Christ for many years, where she served as Secretary and most recently attended Twin City Church of Christ, Festus, Missouri.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Gansner and husband, Dick, Festus, Missouri and Barbara Perez and husband, Joe, Tampa, Florida; two granddaughters, Carrie Waller and Christy Hueter and husband, Andy; and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and one sister, Byrdella Morrison, preceded her in death.

On January 28, 19 50, she was married in the State of Washington, to Ralph Joseph Mayou, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2008. She enjoyed teaching catechism, quilting and being outdoors. Mrs. Mayou was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Mr. McGoldrick passed away peacefully at 6:02 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1948, at West Plains, Missouri, to Joe Luther McGoldrick and Opal Marie Bennett McGoldrick. Jerry graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1966. He met Judy Ipock in West Plains and they were married November 20, 1970, at the Elijah Church of Christ. He was blessed with one daughter, Julie, whom he loved dearly. Mr. McGoldrick worked at the International Shoe Factory for ten years and was a mail carrier for over thirty years in the Caulfield area; he retired in 2010. Traveling with Jerry was always an adventure; he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, family get-togethers and playing golf with his friends. Mr. McGoldrick was a strong member of Elijah Church of Christ and had a deep faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Judy; one sister, Rosalee Carter and husband, Bill, Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Bill McGoldrick and wife, Amy, Mountain Home, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Mike House, Caulfield, Missouri and Roy D. Ipock and wife, Debbie, West Plains, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Elaine Damon and husband, Clayton; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Lloyd Thomas Goss, 60, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Goss passed away at 4:06 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 8, 1957, at Palm Springs, California, to Floyd Goss and Bonnie Weslow. Lloyd enjoyed junior rodeo as a young boy and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating, but his passion was his Harley-Davidson. He is known by family and friends as a prankster that kept everyone laughing and will be missed by all. Let’s Ride.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Kathy Goss; three sons, Shawn Spaulding and wife, Laranda, Justin Goss and Travis Goss and Beckah Jones, all of West Plains, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jaydn, Collin and Tanner; his dad, Gene Weslow and wife, Kim; six brothers, Jim Weslow, Mike Goss, Keith Goss, Dennis Goss, Gary Sampson and Bill James; eight sisters, Ruby Cruse, Debbie Twisselman, Patty Reynolds, Judy Male, Laurie Reeves, Teresa Remington, Kerri Kelly and Jessica Mallett; many special nieces and nephews who are very special to him; and several aunts and uncles.
His father, Floyd Goss, his mother, Bonnie Weslow, one brother, Hedrick Weslow, one brother-in-law, Bob Hanna and his grandson, Kayden James, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Horton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Live Like Jake and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Graveside services for William Cleon Bell, 78, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Eaton Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Bell passed away at 10:40 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Willow Care Nursing Home.
He was born March 22, 1940, in Ozark County, Missouri, to Jesse Earl Bell and Myrtle Luzetta Parsley Bell. Cleon attended Trail Hollow School. On June 8, 1991, he was married in Taney County, Missouri, to Jo Ann Whitney. Before his retirement he worked at DRS, formerly known as Southwest Truck Body, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, Kisse Mills Mortuary for Dr. Hollis Smith and the sale barns in Ava, Alton, Thayer and West Plains and hauled feeder pigs. Mr. Bell loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Bell; four children, Robert Bearden, David Bell and wife, Loretta, Linda Bell Ward and husband, Milton and Ron Bell; seven grandchildren, Wanda, Tabatha, Robert, Leslie, Maegan, Lacey and Steven; one brother, Leon Bell; two sisters, Leota Williams and Oleta Webb; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, one grandchild, Kyla, one brother, Donald Bell and two sisters, Etta Jane Fowler and Deloris Jean House, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Stanley Gene Smith, 64, Springfield, Missouri, will be held at a later date at Souder Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith passed away at 3:40 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born June 15, 1953, at Springfield, Missouri, to Willis Gene Smith and Melba Maxine Shelton Godfrey. On August 2, 1997, he was married at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to Janet Bushong. He enjoyed hiking, being outdoors and adventurous activities. Mr. Smith attended Boulevard Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Smith, of the family home; three daughters, Tammy Campbell and husband, Benny, Alton, Missouri, Christi Sandbach and husband, Sandy, Ventura, California and Diana Ellison and husband, Kennon, Nixa, Missouri; five grandchildren and one on the way, Alexis, Allie, Abby, Chase and Kyler; one brother, James “Rusty” Smith; one sister, Laura Smith; his step-father, John Godfrey and wife, Darlene; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.

Shane Allen Young, 32, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 3:16 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
In honor of Shane, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Patrick Bridge Access, near Dora, Missouri at 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 28, 2018. Following the gathering, there will be a potluck meal.
Shane was born July 6, 1985, at West Plains, Missouri, to Glenn Allen Young and Elizabeth Marie Tidwell.
Shane believed that he was a free spirit. He strapped a backpack on his back and traveled this country extensively. He believed that there was a light and that you were destined to follow that light. Shane met numerous people during his travels that he considered friends.
He is survived by his father, Glenn Young; three brothers, Grant Young, Roman Young and Cody Tidwell; one sister, Hannah Young; his grandmother, Barbara Young; and numerous other family members.
His mother preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Shane Young Fund at Community First National Bank to assist the family in medical and funeral expenses and may be left at the bank or at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
